I worked as a manager for Pamela Stevens Health and Beauty Clinic for many years and found it a rewarding and fulfilling job. Beauty and skincare are my passion and being in a career where I saw great treatment changing not only looks but also attitudes and lives, was fantastic. However, after 28 years Pamela Stevens retired and closed the doors to all the branches she had successfully established and grown. Inevitably, this resulted in many clients being displaced, not having a salon where they could continue their beauty treatments and regimes.
It was perfect timing for me to take the step of making my long-time dream come true and open my own beauty salon. I knew I had the drive, enthusiasm, commitment and skills to offer the beauty industry. With the reassurance that my long-term and loyal clients were happy to follow and support me, I began to put my plans into action. Safe in the knowledge I have years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to help me succeed, I was hopeful and confident my plans would become reality.
With the endless support, patience and understanding from my dear family and friends, alongside words of invaluable advice from Pamela Stevens herself, my devoted team members and I opened the doors to Tessa Stevens Health and Beauty Clinic in September 2007, on London Road, Enfield.
With a highly skilled and personable team, business flourished and we decided we should expand Tessa Stevens Health and Beauty geographically; offering customers in a wider area the opportunity to benefit from our expertise. After the success of the Enfield branch I was fortunate enough to be able to buy the old Pamela Stevens branch in Winchmore Hill that I used to manage myself many years ago.
In September 2009 we opened the doors to our second Tessa Stevens Health and Beauty Clinic. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength and it continues to thrive. The most integral parts of my business – our loyal and highly valued clients and my supportive, dedicated and professional team, who I am immensely proud of – have all played a huge part in this successful journey. I thank you all!
Our focus and ethos at Tessa Stevens has always been to establish our own route in beauty – not to follow trends and brands but to offer what is right for each individual. We extensively research and test all our treatments and skin care products, ensuring that we only utilise those that are best for our clients’ personal goals.
Consistency and continuity in training, education and development within the beauty industry is the pathway that all our therapists follow. Having completed my PGCE in teaching and taught Beauty Therapy at College, it comes naturally to me to ensure that all of my team is on a constant learning and development curve. It means our customers get a premium service and treatment – plus, staff are encouraged both personally and nurtured individually in their careers.
As owner of Tessa Stevens Health and Beauty Clinics, I completed my beauty training in 1995 and qualified in PGCE Beauty Teaching in 2007. Since then I have been accredited in many specialised courses including advanced skincare, skin cosmetology, beauty treatments and laser treatments.
All of this ensures we are able to offer a first class service and a happy welcoming environment for us all to enjoy. I hope you can see how our hard work pays off in the service you receive.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our branches soon.
