What is Microblading and is it For Me?

What is Microblading and is it For Me?

Eyebrows are so important and these days more and more eyebrow treatments are being offered. Microblading is THE eyebrow treatment of the moment. But do you know what it is and the benefits of the treatment?

Here at Tessa Steven’s we have a specialist and can tell you all about it. The proof is in the results. Just take a look at the before and after images below after our microblading specialist.

Mel, got to work microblading the client’s brows.

Before and After Microblading

Microblading is a manual method of implanting small deposits of organic pigment into the surface layer of the skin. It uses a small blade made of tiny needles that are three times thinner than needles used in a usual digital machine. The blade is made up of seven or eleven needles that create thin crisp hair strokes to create the most natural brow. The treatment can create hair strokes fine enough to disappear into the natural brow hair. This creates a fluffy look that is undetectable from the natural brow! It builds up the volume in the brow so the benefit of this treatment is that the brow is enhanced and defined.

If you want to avoid applying make-up daily, suffer from alopecia or have hair loss due to cancer treatment or even if you have simply over-plucked your brows… Then this treatment could be for you.

Micro-pigmentation

All micro-pigmentation, semi-permanent make-up and tattooing words mean the same. to deliver pigment into the skin. There is a lot of misconception that micro blading is not a tattoo when in reality it is, it is just the delivery of applying the pigment that is different.

Microblading uses a blade of needles that is manually placing fine strokes of pigment in the skin. Machine brow is delivery like a gentle sewing machine that pumps the needle up and down to deliver the pigment into the skin.

Hairstroke brows that are fine and crisp can be delivered both ways with the right artist. This is for anyone who desired the soft, natural undetectable brow enhancement to create shape, symmetry and fullness.

Anyone can have microblading but we suggest microblading is for a client who doesn’t want the “bold brow” but wants a mature and elegant look. Microblading doesn’t discriminate against men and men can consider microblading too.

More microblading details:

For this treatment usually two sessions are needed. The treatment lasts 9-12months and a colour boost will refresh it. Sensitive, oily skins may find the colour retention shorter and may need a boost as early as 9-months. In terms of after effect. You can expect your eyebrows to be slightly darker with a little redness that will go down after 2-3 hours.

If you’re interested in this treatment, our advice is for you to do your homework and find out as much as you can about the specific technicians. Make sure they have an accredited qualification. A technician could have only done a day course and usually the price you pay for treatment will reflect this. So we would encourage you not to go “cheap.” Often the price reflects training that is thorough and up-to-date.

At Tessa Stevens you will have an artist that will produce a bespoke treatment of the highest standard. Mel Edwards has over 20-years experience in semi-permanent make-up. She has two in the new microblading delivery of pigment – she is a specialist.
