Womens Waxing Prices and FAQs

We offer two waxing systems at Tessa Stevens, Hot Wax being our preferred option as we find it is longer lasting, grips the hairs more effectively and the hair is removed from the root with no breakage. However, we do offer strip wax which is lower in price.

We can also apply a hair retardant to the area immediately after waxing to help achieve a longer hair free, this is charged at an extra supplement on top of the prices below.

Frequently asked questions:

I have never had waxing before what should I expect?

When you arrive at the clinic your beauty therapist will ask you some questions prior to starting and may get you to sign some paperwork. You will then be taken through to a room where you will be advised on how to get ready. The area will be assessed and prepared before your waxing starts

How long do the hairs have to be?

Hair should be a few millimeters in order for the wax to grip them. If there hairs are too long (over 1cm) then please trim at home prior to your wax appointment. If you have used strip wax, shaving or a hair removal cream in the past, you will not get a completely smooth finish and not gain a slow regrow until after at least a minimum of three waxing treatments.

What to I have to do to prepare?

If you have ingrown hairs it would be a good idea to exfoliate your skin as daily as possible prior to your waxing to lift the trapped hairs out. Try to avoid using any body lotion on the day of the wax. Strictly no heat treatments should have been had i.e. sunbeds, sun exposure, steam room or saunas. Ensure you have showered.

What should I do after?

Avoid all heat treatments again, any perfumed body lotions, any body sprays or roll-ons, swimming and excessive cardio exercise for at least 24 hours or until the skin completely calms down.

Does it hurt?

Not as much as you would think. Clients constantly tell us discomfort is minimal, which we believe is due to the hot wax technique we use. No one has ever asked us to stop the treatment thus far.

Will I need to be naked to have a Brazilian?

You can leave your top on and we will provide you with paper g-string briefs to wear. For a Hollywood you would be free from clothing from the waist down.

Can I have a Brazilian if I am menstruating?

As long as you wear a tampon and understand that you may feel a little more sensitive.
