Pre-Treatment Preparation

To optimise results and reduce sensitivity:

7 days before:

• Pause active topicals (retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acids, strong exfoliants).

• Avoid direct sun, sunbeds, and self-tan on the treatment area.

14 days before:

• No anti-wrinkle injections, filler, or other injectables in the treatment zone.

• Let us know if you’ve had recent peels, laser, or skin infection.

General prep:

• Keep skin well hydrated (water + moisturiser).

Post-Treatment Aftercare

The first 72 hours are critical for healing:

First 24 hours:

• Do not touch unnecessarily; keep skin clean.

• No makeup or SPF unless we supply an approved post-procedure product.

• Use only the calming, hydrating serum/cream provided or recommended by your therapist.

24–72 hours:

• Expect redness that settles; possible tightness or light flaking.

• Avoid heat (saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga), swimming pools, and heavy exercise.

• No active skincare (retinoids, acids, scrubs) for 5 days.

• Sleep on a clean pillowcase; avoid pets touching treated skin.

Sun protection:
From 24 hrs onward (or as advised), apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily—essential to protect healing skin and maintain results.

Hydrate & nourish:
Gentle hydrating serums, barrier-repair moisturisers, and internal skin nutrition (collagen support, omegas, antioxidants) enhance outcomes.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Most skin types can benefit. Dermapen 4 can be tailored for delicate areas and deeper revision work (e.g., scars, stretch marks). A consultation is required.
