A series of flashes of infrared light is aimed across the wart. This heats up and destroys the fungus that is present. To ensure complete coverage, the whole series of pulses is repeated four times, and the individual flashes overlap each other.

Because the fungus can spread from one finger/toe to another, normally all warts are treated togther.

Typically, 3 -4 treatments are necessary. The first three treatments are spaced one week apart, with a follow up approximately one month later.

Like any other treatment of fungus, this a treatment, not a cure. It deals with the problem that exists and does not give immunity against infection at some future time. Your doctor will advise you on the best ways to prevent reinfection.

In a word, “No”. The treatment gives a feeling of gentle warmth while the laser is flashing.
