New Years Beauty Resolutions

As the New Year fast approached and the festive season brought an abundance of food and drink, many people now fell under pressure to look amazing and up their beauty standards, despite the habits they got into… There are some people that manage to glide through the holidays burning the candle at both ends and all the while looking fantastic. But, can they honestly say they feel fantastic at the end of it? The answer is probably not. What’s more, their skin and their overall health will have suffered as a result.

We can all be guilty of overindulgence over Christmas whether it is eating too much, drinking too much, doing too much or even spending too much and come January we can be filled with remorse and guilt. Many people take stock in the New Year and make unrealistic New Year’s resolutions with objectives that can be unattainable. From joining a gym to fad diets and detoxes, or a radically new haircut or a wardrobe and style overhaul. But, New Year’s Resolutions aren’t all bad – they can be an excellent way of setting goals and intentions. We believe that many people lose sight of what resolutions are for – they’re for you, to help you feel better and live your best life, not conform to others’ ideals.

With this in mind, we recommend that if you do make New Year Resolutions, you ensure they are centred on self-care.

Here are some suggestions that we can help you with:

1. If you would like a smoother silhouette, consider 3DLipo, it is ideal for those who are a size 8-14 and want to address stubborn areas like cellulite, inside thigh pockets of fat, tummy pouch or loose skin. Crash diets or radical personal training regimes won’t help with this and if you do also want to lose weight take the healthy and balanced route. And remember, diets won’t address the skin and stubborn areas.

2. Many of us get a little bored of the same make-up routine and could all do with ensuring our make-up products are kind to our skin. At Tessa Stevens we advocate Jane Iredale products – they’re mineral and vegan. All skin types and tones will benefit from mineral makeup. Not sure what to choose? Alice loves the liquid mineral foundation, as it is full of Vitamin C so it offers great coverage, hydration and is an antioxidant. Book a consultation to find out more about how this make-up with both add something special to your look and do your skin some good.

3. We all fall off the bandwagon with our skin from time to time, but once you hit 25-years-old you need to know that your skin really needs a little more TLC. With collagen and elastin fibres depleting we need to consider how we can maintain good skin health. Don’t forget your skincare regimen when you make resolutions. You will look and feel better about it. If you’re not sure what your skin needs, remember you can always book in for a skin analysis using our state-of-the-art Skin Visia machine.

Our advice for the season – enjoy it! But like anything in life, there needs to be balanced, so don’t burn the candle at both ends but if you do, don’t punish yourself and do use the New Year as a great reason to consider your body, skin and self-care.
